Blueprints I designed were full of mistakes.

I'm not from an engineering field. I joined this company only because I lived in the area. I had no idea on what to do, and when I asked my boss what a “bolt” was, he almost fainted. But Design City Japan taught me how to use CAD from scratch.
It was fun operating CAD. But blueprints I designed were full of mistakes. When I asked my boss to check, it came back with too many corrections, I couldn’t see my original lines. Some mistakes I made were the types of line to draw, and I even drew a hole in the hole. I’ve thought many times that this job might not be suitable for me. But I knew why I was making such mistakes. It was because I didn’t see what I was drawing.

I wasn’t sure if I was readyfor the challenge, but I wanted to try.

By learning from mistakes, I started to understand what I was drawing, and I started enjoying my job. The products may be similar, but each is a little different. Every day is a new job.
One day during my second winter at KyushuKisetsu, I was givena task. It was not the kind of job where a task wouldbe givenby my seniors and I followorders. It was my first "Do it yourself"task, which included client relations. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for the challenge, but I wanted to try. And after many meetings with clients to decide on the structure of the instrument, and with many help from my seniors, I was able to complete the final drawing of a plant.

I hope many women will seek challenge.

Currently, I am mainly in charge of clients in Kanto area. I take great importance in communicating with my clients. Maybe it’s a girl’s thing to listen to clients, ask questions and looking into small needs. The evaluation is based on your skills rather than gender, so I hope many women will seek challenge.
I’m thinking of putting my effort into teaching junior employees. I want to teach them everything that I have. Just like my seniors did to me.
